Plotting Futures Through Waking The Oracle
Intro
The workshop “Plotting Futures Through Waking The Oracle” explores the relationship between humans and machines by simulating cooperative practices of the future. Moving back and forth between the past and the future, we will journey through a collective waking dream and create shared oracles with the help of Roland the plotter.
This workshop will be coordinated by Futurology of Cooperation (Anna Czapski and Diederik Peeters) and Open Source Publishing (Sarah Magnan and Vinciane Dahéron). It is part of the plotterstation.osp.kitchen workshop series organized by OSP.
June 27, 2026
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
at Zonne Klopper (23 avenue de la Verrerie - 1190 FOREST)
Breakfast/snack included!
No prior knowledge is required. Everyone is welcome!
Since space is limited, registration is required, but we will not be selecting participants.

The workshop “Plotting Futures Through Waking The Oracle” explored the relationship between humans and machines by simulating cooperative practices of the future. Moving back and forth between the past and the future, we travelled through a collective waking dream and created shared oracles with the help of Roland·e the plotter.
This workshop was coordinated by Futurology of Cooperation (Anna Czapski and Diederik Peeters) and Open Source Publishing (Sarah Magnan and Vinciane Dahéron). It is part of the plotterstation workshop series organized by OSP and took place during Eukairos. Eukairos took the form of a dream-navigation residency. They explore dream-based practices to fuel anti-capitalist and anti-authoritarian struggles through lucid dreaming and other imaginative techniques.
The workshop took the shape of a role play game immersed in a Brussels where capitalism ended and social interactions are reshaped. Two kindred groups, from a different space or time, were communicating to each other in the search of answers to solve their social issue.
Here we used the plotter as a tool to enhance collective drawing decision and communication. Roland·e was part of the narrative as a character, an oracle used to send messages, questions to find answers to social issues.
We used several tour of discussion technics in order to shape more precisely each character. We then split in 2 groups and shape more precisely each world.
We started a guided collective awaken dream to explore and name a question, a collective issue to solve. What are the issues our world encouters ? Using a collection of shapes that we merged and assemble we gave a visual representation of the issue we were facing, in order to send it throught Roland·e to the other group. Each group took the time to translate the received plotted output as a message from a kindred, helping to solve our own issue.
This moment was the oppportunity to test and have feed back on the game that we will adapt. For example we wish to make a longer version (here played only 3 hours), which will give more time to create a larger shared language and more shapes and symbols.
